PRONOMBRES

PRONOMBRES PERSONALES:

Los pronombres personales en inglés son también conocidos como pronombres personales sujetos o nominales. Son aquellos que refieren a las personas gramaticales. Son: I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they.

I (ái) - yo 
you (iú) - tú / usted 
he (jí) - él 
she (shí) - ella 
it (it) - él /ello / ella (objeto)
we (uí) - nosotros / nosotras 
you (iú) - ustedes / vosotros 
they (déi) - ellos / ellas

I (ái) – yo

• I am a teacher. (Yo) soy un profesor.

• I live in Argentina. (Yo) vivo en Argentina.

You (iú) – tú / usted

• You are not a teacher. (Tú) no eres profesor.

• You don´t live in Argentina. (Tú) no vives en Argentina.

He (jí) – él

• Bill is married. Bill está casado.

• He has two children. (El) tiene dos hijos.

She (shí) – ella

• Mary is not married. Mary no está casada.

• She doesn´t have any children. (Ella) no tiene hijos.

It (it) – el / ellos / ella (objeto)

• It is late already. Es tarde ya. (referido a la hora).

• I have a house. It is big. Tengo una casa. (Ella) es grande.

We (uí) – nosotros / nosotras

• We  are here to learn. (Nosotros) estamos aquí para aprender.

• We want to learn son. (Nosotros) queremos aprender pronto.

 

You (iú) – ustedes / vosotros

• You are students. (vosotros/ Ustedes) son estudiantes.

• You study English. (Vosotros/ Ustedes) estudian inglés.

They (deí) – ellos / ellas

• They live in Italy. (Ellos) viven en Italia.

• They don´t speak English. (Ellos) no hablan inglés.

 

PRONOMBRES POSESIVOS: Indican posesión y son invariables. Nunca van precedidos de un artículo. Los pronombres posesivos en inglés son: mine, yours, his, hers, ours, yours, theirs.

Mine (Máin) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Mío/A Míos/As
Yours (Iórs) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Tuyo/A Tuyos/As
His (Jis) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Suyo/A Suyos/As

Ours (Áurs) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Nuestro/A, Nuestros/As

• Can you lend me a pencil? – I forgot mine.

¿Puedes prestarme un lápiz? – Olvidé el mío.

• Here are your tools. Where are mine?

Aquí están tus herramientas. ¿Dónde estás las mías?

• Is this book YOURS?

¿Es tuyo este libro?

• That is my problema, noy YOURS.

Ese es mi problema, no tuyo.

His (Jis) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Suyo/A Suyos/As

• I lent Bod my car and he lent me HIS.

Le presté a Bod mi auto y él me presto el suyo.

• Jack wears a nice hat. Is it HIS?

Jack usa un lindo sombrero. ¿Es suyo (de él)?

Hers (Jers) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Suyo/A Suyos/As

• I forgot my book, so Susan gave me HERS.

Olvidé mi libro, entonces Susan me dio el suyo.

• Thai s not my sister´s car. HERS is red.

Ese no es el auto de mi hermana. El de ella es rojo.

Ours (Áurs) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Nuestro/A, Nuestros/As

• Their city is old. OURS is new.

Su ciudad es vieja. La nuestra es nueva.

• Their country is bigger than OURS.

Su país es más grande que el nuestro.
Yours (Iórs) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) De Ustedes

• Our language is nice. YOURS is practical

Nuestro idioma es lindo. El de ustedes es práctico.

• Our house is next to YOURS.

Nuestra casa está al lado de la de ustedes.

Theirs (Dérs) - (El / La / Lo / Los / Las) Suyo/A Suyos/As

• That car belongs to my parents. It´s THEIRS.

Ese coche pertenece a mis padres. Es de ellos.

• Our city is a nice as THEIRS.

Nuestra ciudad es tan linda como la de ellos.
